Food Mah is a family-owned restaurant in Manchester specializing in South Asian street food and fusion dishes. They needed a vibrant, appetizing website that reflected their brand personality, displayed their rotating seasonal menu, and enabled online ordering for both pickup and local delivery. We delivered a WordPress site using Elementor for flexible page design and WooCommerce for a streamlined ordering experience, giving the owners full control over menu updates and promotions.

Challenges

The restaurant's previous website was a basic template with static menu images that required a developer to update every time dishes changed — which happened weekly with their seasonal specials.
Customers were ordering through third-party delivery apps that charged 25-30% commission fees, significantly cutting into the restaurant's margins on every order.
The brand had strong visual identity on social media but the website felt generic, creating a disconnect for customers who discovered them on Instagram.
Delivery zone management was non-existent — the restaurant received online orders from addresses outside their 5-mile delivery radius, leading to cancellations and negative reviews.

Our Solution

Built the menu system using WooCommerce product categories with custom Elementor templates, allowing the owner to add, remove, or update dishes with photos and descriptions in minutes without any technical knowledge.
Set up a direct online ordering flow through WooCommerce with pickup time slots and delivery scheduling, eliminating the need for third-party apps and keeping 100% of order revenue in-house.
Designed custom Elementor sections that match the restaurant's bold, colorful Instagram aesthetic — including full-bleed food photography, animated menu cards, and a live Instagram feed widget on the homepage.
Implemented a postcode-based delivery zone checker using a custom PHP plugin that validates the delivery address at checkout and displays estimated delivery times based on distance from the restaurant.
