Smokehouse Grill BBQ — Shopify Restaurant Website

Smokehouse Grill BBQ is a barbecue restaurant chain with multiple locations. They needed a modern, mobile-first website that showcased their menu, enabled online ordering for pickup and delivery, and provided location-specific pages with hours, directions, and catering information. We built a fully custom Shopify storefront that integrates seamlessly with their kitchen workflow.

Challenges

The existing website was outdated and not mobile-friendly, making the menu hard to reach on a phone.
Online ordering had to sync with the kitchen display system at each location without disrupting in-house operations during peak hours.
Each location had different menus, hours, and catering options that needed to be managed independently.
High-resolution food photography needed to load quickly without sacrificing visual quality on slower mobile connections.

Our Solution

Designed a responsive Shopify theme with large food imagery, sticky navigation, and a one-tap ordering flow optimized for mobile users.
Integrated the Shopify order system with the restaurant's existing KDS via a custom webhook that routes orders to the correct location's kitchen printer.
Built dynamic location pages using Shopify metafields, allowing staff to update menus, hours, and specials per location from a single admin dashboard.
Implemented lazy loading, next-gen image formats (WebP), and a progressive image strategy, keeping photos crisp without a heavy page.
